• Leaky Ni-Cd clock battery

The Ni-Cd battery may be leaking, risking damage to PCB layers & nearby components. Promptly remove the battery & clean corrosion/alkaline salts from the board. Use white vinegar to dissolve salts, but exercise caution as vinegar can corrode exposed metals. A thorough examination & repair may be needed. BIOS

• The solder mask print indicates support for two 27C256 chips, but the HI socket is unpopulated (only a solder mask print, no actual socket).
• The BIOS is stored (interleaved in LO/HI) on a 27C512 chip in the LO socket, despite the solder mask specifying a 27C256.
• It's unclear if the HI socket would function if soldered and populated.
