Also known as:
Known issues:
- Underpowered VRM
The onboard VRM may not provide sufficient power for certain processors or configurations.
- Fake motherboard/chipset
This motherboard and/or its chipset is either a replica of or falsely advertised as a higher-end competing product. Fake products often have lower performance and quality and are in general harder to find proper drivers and BIOS files for.
Please check your motherboard in detail to determine if its a fake product or not. If it is, you should immediately refund the product if possible.
Notes:
WARNING: This motherboard has a maximum 95W processor TDP limit. When upgrading your CPU, please check its TDP online to make sure it's compatible with your system. When attempting to run it with a >95W CPU, the system will POST, however you will then get a BIOS message saying the CPU is unsupported, and the BIOS will halt the boot process.
Often sold as counterfeit ASRock G41M-VS3 or an unknown Foxconn motherboard in Turkey, although the actual manufacturer is ITZR. It was also relabeled by Asboard and Quadro, both Turkish re-labelers.
If you have purchased an ASRock G41M-VS3 or a Foxconn G41 motherboard and you suspect it may be counterfeit, please do either one of the following:
-
Check it in detail and compare its layout with pictures of the advertised product online. The counterfeit model has quite a lot obvious layout differences compared to the actual product.
-
Check the BIOS. If you own an ASRock motherboard, check the BIOS type. The genuine ASRock product has AMIBIOS, while this fake one has Phoenix - AwardBIOS instead. If you own a Foxconn motherboard, check the model name reported by identification software like CPU-Z, HWiNFO etc. The BIOS on this fake model often reports the model name as "Eaglelake" or "Eaglelake (Socket 423)" (even though it is actually LGA775) instead of a proper model name.
