- Faulty or Leaking Electrolytic Capacitors
Some motherboards may contain faulty or leaking electrolytic capacitors, which can negatively impact system performance or stability. These capacitors may exhibit issues such as bulging, leaking, or even exploding, potentially damaging other components on the motherboard. Users should inspect their capacitors regularly and replace any that are faulty or leaking to avoid damage or system instability.
Early revision with older stepping chipset, therefore no official Tualatin CPU support. Despite this, some users claim Tualatin CPUs work on this revision with the latest ROM version (V2.04).
The onboard AD1885 audio chip is known for malfunctioning with retail drivers. Either the Compaq OEM driver (listed in the Drivers tab) or generic Intel AC'97 drivers must be used for proper functionality.
