- Data Corruption during IDENTIFY DEVICE
SpinPoint F4 EcoGreen drive models HD155UI and HD204UI manufactured before December of 2010 (2010.12) have a firmware bug which causes the drive to develop bad blocks if it is writing data while issuing an IDENTIFY DEVICE command to the drive. This problem can be fixed with a firmware update, as explained here: https://www.smartmontools.org/wiki/SamsungF4EGBadBlocks
