Description:

This chipset is incompatible with SATA-II and SATA-III drives unless they have a jumper to force them to SATA 1 speeds.
The VT8237R Plus (available since mid 2005, not sure what exact week) has the working SATA auto negotiation and seems to be pin compatible.
